Ace Hi-life musician Kojo
Antwi who is popularly known and called by fans with the title Mr. Music man
has described himself with three titles, the mango farmer, the azonto lover and
eden builder.
Kojo Antwi who revealed
these imminent things about himself to nanayaw18.com said that music for him is
eternity. He has no plans of retiring from active music so far as he still has
the God given talent to sing he will go harder and harder.
In talking about his three
titles, Kojo started to explain why he calls himself the mango farmer to
nanayaw18.com. He mentioned that, he was born to farmers both parents were into
farming hence a young energetic man like himself has no excuse than to farm
hence his desire to own a 40 hectare mango farm.
Kojo maintained: ‘this 40
square hectare land has two purposes. It will be used for a music school later
but now it is serving as a mango farm. Located inside Dodowa, the Hi-life veteran
added, ‘I hope to own a school where people can earn diploma and certificates
in music and that will happen soon’.

the Azonto dance, well the hi-life musician noted that he is a strong contender
for the stay of the music genre Azonto.
‘Let me be very honest
Nanayaw18.com, the hi-life is too much. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying
Hi-life should die, no, but music is dynamic hence the new craze of genre in
this country should be made to stay and that is Azonto’.
I am a pop band product, during
my early days in my music career I had the chance to play with a band. From the
tours and playing with great traditional men, I firmly grasped the hi-life
tunes and meaning hence I enjoy it to the fullest, Kojo stressed.
He later added: ‘How many
of our young musicians had the chance to play with Bands? These days’ bands
hardly exist so if they have created their own genre and it is doing well, it
should be encouraged to be done well’.
As to whether he will be
releasing an Azonto track himself, the maestro did not say so but gave his
endorsement for the new genre whizzing very fast among the youth.
Kojo Antwi disclosed that
he will never and ever touch or cut off his hair, fans should not even dream
about it. He contended that true raster men do not smoke weed hence he does not
smoke weed therefore his hair represented a true African.
In his final title, Kojo
said, from a humble beginning of walking barefooted to school to becoming a
great Hi-life musician, he has not seen everything yet and he hopes to do more.
For that reason he is building a huge dream house he calls EDEN maybe he took a
clue from the garden of EDEN in the good book.
According to Kojo, the
EDEN house when completed will be like the great Bob Nester Marley’s home where
tourist paid to go and watch his studios and many more.
The house is on a hill
inside Accra on the Kasoa road and it is almost in completion stage. ‘It is
something I am very attached to, it is just like my new baby let me say. I am emotionally
connected to this house that is why I am deeply involve with it from foundation
to everything, Kojo passionately added’.
In his ending words during
this entire exclusive interview to nanayaw18.com, the music maestro made it
clear that he does not want to be a passerby in Ghanaian music history but a
known face therefore he is still on fire, his hope is to gain long life and
strength from God.
Kojo also advised the
young musicians to be bold. Don’t be timid in your careers, just be bold and
you will go the extra mile with your boldness. I love Ghana, I cant stay
anywhere else hence this election peace before, during and after the election
2012 is a necessity, lets ensure it guys, kojo final words.
The man does not seem
humble in pictures or on TV but he is really humble in person, during this long
interview with him, we realized the he sounded like an upcoming musician
wanting to achieve more and that alone is enough humility to take him far.
