BET Best African Act, Stonebwoy, who is currently on media tour in South Africa
has lauded Jamaican Reggae group, Morgan Heritage, for giving him opportunity
to play on their “Strictly Roots” Europe Tour 2015.
"I’m
honoured and grateful for Morgan Heritage for the platform they gave me on
their tour in 2015. These are huge musicians I used to watch on TV and look up
to them; then the works connected us and they put me on their tour and told the
world to look out for me. That was a major step up and it means a lot to me”,
he admitted.
Morgan
Heritage is an internationally known Reggae group from Jamaica; they won “Best
Reggae Album” at the 58th edition of the Grammy awards with their album
“Strictly Roots”. Stonebwoy is featured on Jemere Morgan’s (Gramps Morgan’s
son) debut album "Transition" which got to 2nd position on the world
Billboard.com chart.
Stonebwoy
took the opportunity to briefly talk about his upcoming album “Epistles Of
Mama” (EOM), due for official release soon – tentative release, March. It would
come as a one drop album with notable features from Jamaica like Pressure Buss
Pipe, and others.
Stonebwoy,
born "Etse Livingstone Satekla", is one of the young but
super-talented Ghanaian musicians putting his country (Ghana) on the
international front. He played tours in America and Australia in 2016 with all
sold out tickets at all the venues he played.
He won “Artiste of the Year” at
the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2015 and has since been on the
ascendency playing all the big shows in Ghana and abroad. He released an EP
album in 2016 titled “Livingstone” – which registered as his 3rd album.
Stonebwoy
was on set earlier in the day - on Wednesday, February 15 - shooting his set
for "Shuga" TV Series, a soap opera produced by MTV network.
