Appiah Danquah popularly known as the man in the mix (Appietus) has always been known for his beat production until recently outdooring his singing capabilities in the music industry.
His first major try with front line singing was when Appietus featured in his own idols T J song, ‘I Love You’ but that did not go too well as many critics nailed him for it.
People disliked his singing too bad that it was featured in ASEM’s 2010 filla single and a couple of other entertainment magazines on radio plus TV.
Despite all the setbacks Appietus did not look the way of critics but did justice in saving the career of 5Five with their new single “Moge baye”.
Many do not know that the powerful chorus of the new hit in town was mastered minded by the voice of Appietus and all other necessary harmonies that came with the song.
The return of 5Five was crucial, they needed a song to re -launch their career and if they were going to get it, it had to be from the beat of Appietus since he caused the first single hit, which he did.
The extra part of it was the magic voice that has caused the whole capital and its environs the spread of ‘Moge baye’ disease.
But Appietus did not just start singing; he has always been on the mic from the hay days of Sidney’s first hit.
His timely intervention for 5five has not saved them a career, or a bright future but a warm reception in the hearts of Ghanaian music lovers.
May be ASEM and other critics should re visit their books and change their perception about the man in the mix, since he has saved a dieing career of the prodigal boys of Bull Haus entertainment.
