Ekow Smith Asante has received matching orders from commercial acting by the film Producers association of Ghana (FIPAG) for using foreign characters without necessary documentation.
The actor who was producing his first owned production for unrevealed titled received twenty four (24) months of no acting or taking part in any production in Ghana for poor and improper documentation  in using foreign crew and characters.
This story was confirmed by a source that proved the news credibility with a message from a member of FIPAG saying: “FIPAG and the film regulatory council have instructed all members to sideline Mr. Ekow Smith for 24 months”.
The reason for his sideline was: “Engaging foreigners to shot a film in Ghana without requisite documentation”, released by Mr. Socrate Sarfo to all members of FIPAG.
Ekow Smith hays days of commercial acting started some years back, at a that time were movie making had not taken the turn it has now, is he going to accept a ban that might end his career or is he going to appeal.
FIPAG as a body charges outrageously if a local producer wants to make use the services of foreign crew. The minimum charge per head to pay for a foreign crew is between $200 to $300.
When that payment is made, the local producer has to pay an amount of $5000 before using the services of the foreign acts.
More cannot be said for now on this case until nanayaw18.com hears Mr. Ekow Smith’s side of the story. Efforts to reach Mr. Ekow Smith are in progress and if reached readers will be made aware of his side of the story.
For now, FIPAG in a text message from Socrate Sarfo have warned all members of the association not to use the services of Mr. Ekow Smith Asante.
