As the good book says: “all things shall pass away but my word will remain” one popular saying that majority of gospel divas and men lean on.
But for some time now Ghanaian gospel music has being left untouched and very little or nothing is heard from them.
The gospel industry is hardly rewarded or recorgnised during any industry awards, if they are rewarded it will be only few nominations.
If our memories are right, a gospel music has own the over song of the year once and recently one at the just ended music video awards by 4syte TV.
The gospel music nominations have always be very little in all arwards schemes in the country, from Music awards to the video awards.
What courses these few nominations, is it the lack of creation of nominations or what?
Hardly will you find an equal nomination for gospel musicians, when final nominations are out in all award schemes in 2011 check, you will notice that the circular music nominations are a lot than the gospel ones.
Ghanaian music industry will not die despite rejection by the media and music lovers.
Gospel musicians are hardly recognized in the country but treated like kings and queens outside as compared to their other musicians.
The scripture does not lie, hence all other music will pass away but gospel music will stay no wonder they do the best promotion.
So as we match to the annual Ghana Music Awards 2011 we hope that Gospel music and musicians will give equal attention like their other musicians in the other genres.
Eyes are watching to tell the world, what their ears are itching to hear.
