Contrary the promotional television and radio advert that led patrons into believing that this year’s Ghana Music Awards was going to be an exciting one with the coming on board of sensational Nigerian artiste Ice Prince of Oleku fame, the Chocolate City artiste flopped big time and succeeded in making a complete mockery of himself during his stay on stage.
It started with an awful stage entrance that didn’t do him any good as the crowd barely knew he had come on, followed by a superfluity of off key notes and a badly rehearsed act with his sidekick, D Black.
Ice Prince who performed the remix version of his Oleku track only managed little applause from the rather disappointed crowd.
The artiste’s below-par performances attracted some rage both within and outside the confines of the Dome of the Accra International Conference Centre.
A comment on social networking site Facebook read: “so was this what the organizers had in mind when they decided to bring him on board. I am disappointed. This is so not fair. It is a rip off”.
