BOOMERANG NITE CLUB |
Entertainment in Greater Accra and its hang out joints for relaxation has been shut down to total silence by the GA traditional area due to their one month of silence in their capital for maize to grow for ‘Homowo’ festival.
Yesterday 18newspaper
drove around town to find out how some of the hang out joints were faring due
to this big blow and also to find how this one month of don’t play loud music
will affect the industry.
18newspaper gathered
that majority of the joints where people sit, review the week and plan for the
other weeks are adhering to the regulation buy not playing any music at all.
Not to advertise for
any pub or club on our website, 18newspaper can say that joints around DC, Osu,
Dzorwulo, new town, among many were all as silence as a cemetery finding
patrons there feeling bored.
Now, what is the
implication of this one month silence thing to the musician and labels in the country?
Research finding
proves that, it will have a negative impact on Azonto musicians more as for a
month, all those releasing new singles cannot do proper promotion on the street
and that means their songs will be heard only on radio plus in their rooms.
Another finding is
that, majority of these Azonto songs hardly start promotion from radio stations
hence for a month it will be difficult for them to cope, so those musicians
need to find other means of promotion or they will go hungry after the one
month ban on music.
The good news to
those who do good Ghanaian music, like the Hi-life musicians, gospel and some cool
acoustic melodies songs is, they get to push harder especially now that Azonto
noise makers have been shut down by nature.
Henceforth we should
be hearing so much of good hi-life music from these genre musicians, they
should give us what we have always wished for, good smoothing music to the
ears.
Some say this one
month ban on music is a negative thing, yes it is to Azonto noise makers
musicians, pubs, club owners, and event organizers specially as we draw closer
to election year few months away and right after this one month, we are
counting down hence what more can we do.
Entertainment in the
country for the year 2012 will not go as 2011 as many event houses are first
off, scared of elections in December to do any event and now this ban on music
(loud), what more can go wrong now.
