AZONTO SHOULD BE A CULTURAL DANCE

AZONTO DANCE STYLE

Last year saw the strong presence of the new dance making waves not only in Ghana but worldwide called AZONTO. It is the popular dance that goes with any tempo of music, rhythm, and dance steps.

Funny enough the dance called AZONTO whose ownership is strongly debatable as to who really launched it to the public domain even though it has been in existence for quiet sometime is questionable but the truth it is now a strong force to reckon with.

This is the gist, 18newspaper.com was doing its normal production progress and decided to tackle the country’s cherished cultural dances and we realized that the Ministry of Tourism, chieftaincy and national culture can actually add this popular dance to our cultural dances.

AZONTO is attributed to Ghana worldwide, majority of internationals before their visit to this great nation to stage a show, conference or seminar cannot just come if they don’t have their hands or firsthand information about the new dance Ghana’s entertainment industry has brought to the lime light.

Most of the internationals come down with the aim of coming to learn this popular dance steps growing like cancer among nations and send it back to their country and use it. Our fellow Nigerians like Wiskid, Dbanj, among others have proved that this dance called AZONTO is now growing from just a dance to tourist attraction piece, because they want it in their videos and more but they can’t do it well like Ghanaians do it so they come, learn and use it.

This dance is widely accepted everywhere now as in the ongoing Big Brother Star Game, we saw or many of us heard about how the other African countries were jumping on board to learn the dance called AZONTO when Eazzy dedicated her game to teach them.

Seriously what is Ghana waiting for, authorities have too many evidences that AZONTO can be a national dance asset where we get people to teach foreigners and earn the country foreign income just like how Adowa, kete, among other cultural dances are thought at the universities and art centers in Ghana.

Research proves that those old dances did not get attention like how AZONTO has received within this a year of coming into the main stream.

18newspaper.com appeals to the ministry of tourism, and all those in charge of our culture to push AZONTO to be in our national dance, at least Wikipedia has researched and proved it hence it is an area the government can look at. Don’t forget if it is accepted it creates Jobs for many unemployed youth who can really dance this crazy hilarious steps.
