Contemporary gospel
musician Cwesi Oteng of ‘God dey Bless me’ fame has gained a massive nod at
this year’s Africa Gospel Awards to be held later this year. The gospel artiste
was nominated for the best video category, Africa gospel artiste of the year
and song of the year of which he stands tall among the rest is praying for
God’s prediction.
In a statement
released by a member of his (Cwesi oteng) team, it was disclosed that Cwesi is
as sober as any other awards he has been nominated in the past and is leaving
the voting and everything that will happen on that day to God.
He said: ‘of course
the nomination makes him smile, everybody will love to be recognized after a
hard day’s work, so yes, Cwesi Oteng was full of praise to his maker when the
news came out but as to his expectation does was nothing new.
The member
maintained: ‘for those of us who know him, we just knew he would automatically
leave everything to his maker, someone he (Cwesi Oteng) has leaned on all these
years throughout his music career hence if God blesses him with it, he will
humbly accept it but if other wise, all he will say is His maker knows best and
at least Africa is recognizing the hidden gift from Ghana.’
Gospel music in Ghana
is growing from strength and to strength hence come the event date, Cwesi will
represent optimistic of winning the categories.
