Veteran broadcasting and
PR guru KKD has re-defined celebrity status in Ghana and also showered praise
on our local music videos both artistes and directors by saying it is a step
towards a bright future.
During his contribution on
the Viasat 1 morning show – This morning, KKD noted that before a man / woman
can be called a celebrity that person must have three things.
According to KKD, a
celebrity must be very good at their craft, must be easily recognized for what
they do by the average person and must have excitedly received awards for what
they do, then that person can be called a celebrity.
He gave some nods to some
list that were given to him by the host of the morning show, names like Sarkodie,
Rocky Dawuni, Kojo Antwi, Samini, Majid Michel and Jackie Appiah, just to
mention a few he nodded.
On his take on music
videos, KKD said, the Ghanaian music videos industry is a growing one; I think
these music celebrities deserve a thumbs up for using a low budget to produce
something good.
Most of the time an
artiste can choose to go for a montage video, which is, the display of flashy cars plus video vixens
while others can also go for the narrative stories, where the video follows
order. These two are most of the time well shot in the country, so yes; it is a
step for a bright future.
I have seen some directors
work on a low budget and give firm directing to first class characters hence
they make a good video hence if we get more hands on board, our videos will
look more better than it is now, KKD contended.
In his ending statement,
he urged the people in the art industry to be the best and a master of their
craft for that will take them places.
