One time hit makers of the land and the Swagger boys –
Ruff N Smooth has questioned the credibility of the 4syte TV music video awards
slated for November 17th 2012 at the AICC – Main hall saying they
should stop the family awards.
According to the music duo they are not surprise their
music video for ‘Naija Baby’ was no nominated because the video awards its self
is not credible.
In talking to NanaYaw18.com in a phone interview,
manager of Ruff N Smooth who spoke on behalf of his boys said: ‘we shot our
video in Canada with Big OJ, Ghanaians can testify to the fact that our ‘Naija
Baby’ video is currently one of the best, so how come an awards scheme from
4syte TV who for God knows how long have being airing that video on their
platform could not nominate it in any category’
Manager Lens as he is popularly called also noted that,
he feels CEO of 4syte TV selected the videos or artistes he is comfortable with
and chose to award them.
Lens also asked some questions – he said first of, to
every award scheme organizers boldly announces nominations filling hence the
artistes will go and fill a release form and nominate his video in categories
but for the 4syte TV music video awards no body heard anything all we saw on
their platforms was directors talking about it.
Second of, why did they call some artistes to come to
their office during the nomination process and others where only called to come
and witness the launch only.
Ruff N Smooth was not called to come fill a nomination
form but we were boldly called by the 4syte TV guys to come to the launch,
meanwhile our fellow music groups were called to the office a long time ago to
check in their videos, why should it be so?
Simply put the awards lack credibility but as everyone knows
in Ghana, when one benefits he / she wants the rest to suffer hence all the
artistes nominated know very well that there is lack of credibility but they
are quiet until they lose the award they will not cough out their pain.
Manager of Ruff N Smooth in his ending statement told
NanaYaw18.com that 4syte TV is just repeating the mistakes of Charter Haus,
organizers of Ghana music awards by doing things that will please them and
rewarding artistes who always come to them for favors and that is so wrong.
‘No wonder last year he had to change the nominations
list again before the main awards because the complains were to many, learning
from that we thought by now he would have learnt from that but no, 4syte TV CEO
is just doing what pleases him, Lens lamented.
They (Ruff N Smooth) who are billed for a show and
Canada tour is set to leave the country soon and will return after 3months
hence they wish all nominated artistes the best but they don’t wish to hear
them complain if they lose. A word to the wise is enough.
