Music has always been his
second love and basket ball his first love especially when he used to do what
he calls #BoakyeMagic but now a full time Disc Jocker - DJ Phaya who has made
Tavern 2131 a place not to be missed in the evening.
The DJ who used to work with
Y107.9fm turned down a second chance to go back to the station he once worked
only to take up the challenge of keeping people or music lovers on their feet
inside a Club / pub.
According to Mr. Boakye as
he is called in real life, the most difficult thing to do as a DJ is to keep
people on their feet for hours without them knowing hence when I was called to
take up the Tavern job I saw it as a huge challenge.
He maintained that, you
know on radio you don’t see audience response as to whether what you playing
suits them or not but in a pub you are much closer to the people hence if you
have a bad day it will be obvious for all to see, that is the more reason why I
accepted the job.
DJ Phaya also stressed
that he is grateful to Jay Foley and the team at 2131 for the support. These
guys have been amazingly wonderful in my stay at Tavern 2131; the support is
worth talking about.
In his ending words, DJ
Phaya said, he is always on duty but the music buzz starts from weekends
through to Sunday hence to have a feel of what Tavern 2131 provides in terms of
music, drinks and more why don’t you join them this weekend.
