Producers of the Okyeame Kwame
Versatile Show Countdown reality series showed they were full of clever creativity
with their episode on Sunday.
Loads of viewers who shared their
opinions after watching the episode on twitter, Facebook and the Rap Doctors official
website were very thrilled with the packaging of the series so far. In the much
talked about episode, there was the usual recap of past episodes with a neatly
fused additions.
Organizers of the event have a running reality
series with the aim of giving viewers access into how the show is building up
running to the main event at the National Theatre on December 14th. The episodes
essentially highlight on the concept of fusing Music, Dance and Theatre on one
stage, the life of Okyeame Kwame as well as happenings related to the event.
The themed Okyeame Kwame
Versatile Show Countdown reality series took viewers through the selection
process of dancers at Legon as well as the inclusion of Prof Nii Yartey of
National Dance Company and CEO of Roverman Production, James Ebo Whyte.
We watched as Okyeame Kwame lost
his voice after a gig in Tamale, the abrupt departure of Effie of Roverman
Production who was in charge of Theatre to Australia, the rehearsal time with
Vera of D3, Zapp Mallet, Caroline, Racquel and Kesse.
James Ebo Whyte explained to
viewers his”… dying desire to raise creativity. I believe societies are
transformed by artiste and creative people. I was wowed by the fact that Okyeame
Kwame with the Versatile Show wants to challenge himself and the status quo. It
is my pleasure to invite all and sundry to come and witness these awesome live
performances.”
For his part Professor Nii
Yartey, a renowned Choreographer sees the Versatile Show as a means to bridge
the gap the traditional and modern flavor of entertainment. “It tickles me as a
Dance Tutor what the show sets to achieve and I agreed to be part because I see
eye to eye with what Okyeame Kwame sets out to achieve with this fusion,” were
Nii Yartey’s final words after revealing to viewers a foretaste of complex
dance formations and moves to expect on event night.
Queci, formally Ded Buddy, a
Ghanaian artiste who sojourned to the United Stated rudely interrupted a
rehearsal session at Roverman Production on live camera to question why Okyeame
Kwame didn’t include him in the list of performers of the Show at the National
Theatre. The two artistes who go way back talked to each other and the Rap
Doctor was elated to have his old Ded Buddy’s support.
So in effect Queci would be one
of the latest additions to the list of artiste to perform on the night.
