Skillions as a record label and a group started with much zeal in some youthful with little or no knowledge but exuberance with the attitude to succeed.

In the beginning he said: ‘Skillions started out as a duo back in 1999 consisting of Presbyterian Boys Secondary School's first ever tongue-twisters by names T-Kube and himself.
In explaining the formation and growth of the Record label, CEO and musician lamented that, T-Kube, left Ghana in 2000 to U.K to continue schooling but i decided to keep recruiting members for Skillions.
Jayso completed SHS in 2001 and joined Haatsville Music Group with the Skillions (then Jayso,BallJ and Jinx). There he developed immensely and used his skills to build Skillions.
Haatsville music group had some groups under it, these group consists of JaeP, Myth Costello, Mr. Skratch, The Canz and Skillions, for the records ''JaeP aka KobiOnyame (CEO Haatsville Music Group) is the reason why I make beats today'' Jayso's stressed on smilling.
The Skillions grew bigger recruiting new members such as, EL, Jtown, KP, Sandra, Jinx, Midknight & Ball J, hence the group released a mixtape in2006 called ''The Skillions Demotapes'' with all productions were recorded in Jayso's 'bedroom-studio' and the outcome of the songs were very good, especially when it had Songs that got heads turning.
Through hard work and consistency Jayso met his manager Melissa Mensah around this period, the very manager responsible for the birth of Skillions Records and with her help Skillions shot out the roof and Skillions Records became a household name till now.
‘It was not the success of the mixtape that split the group up, Jay So said, but after the mixtape, the group split for a second so it's members could pursue solo projects or causes.
This is not to say there was 'beef', we still worked together as recently we delivered a hot hip hop banger called “Hop to the Beat” released on Y107.9FM on Ryse and Shine, a show hosted by Miss Naa.
This is the truth he said: Over the past few years, Skillions has gone through some major changes and most of the old members are no longer part of the group.
EL started GH productions and making waves across GH, Jtown signed to killa1west and was recently nominated for an award at the just ended Channel O Music Video Awards, BallJ started Nu' Africa, Jinx is independent and working on his album, NKP quit rap, Midknight is still doing his thing in Atlanta, Grafik left, Joey and Gemini signed to Last2, Kevinbeats signed to Cryme Records. Killmatic was fired.
The core members of the Skillions fraternity I will say till meet and do things because there is no beef with the newly signed seven artiste still recording songs, getting ready to release some deadly albums but for the records again, Kelvin Beats is not a skillion and Killmatic is fired, his final words.
