“ I have been following the music terrain in Ghana for some time now and can confirm that the young badge of Ghanaian musicians are very shallow minded lyrically”, a Nigerian Musician expressed himself about his idea of Ghanaian music industry.

The artiste who confided in nanayaw18.com to remain an anonymous source explained his reason as: ‘when you compare the old Ghanaian musicians, like the Amakye Dede’s, CK Gyamfi’s, Doctor Paa Bobo, AB Crynstil, among the rest, we realized that their music still sounds better more than our current generation of musicians.

Addition the Niger musician said, way back Nigerian musicians were doing well but Ghana was leading the way due to the kind of musical lyrics they had but now the current badge of musicians in Ghana can hardly compare their selves to Nigerian artistes, in terms of lyrics.

His explanation was: ‘All these wanna be musicians in Ghana sing about one thing, “ASS of a woman”, emphasizing on his point he said, check the hit song for Christmas, Castro’ African Girls, it was about women’ ‘Ass’, Ruff N Smooth’s latest, ‘Boom boom back’ also about woman’s ass.

Pouring out his dis likeness, the source added that, is only a few of the artistes here sing about a different topic and when they even do they are never recognized because fans don’t like those songs, one thing intensifying the shallowness of the artiste in Ghana.

If you take songs from Nigerian artistes, say Psquare’s “Eno easy” Style plus’s ‘Thank You’, Asa’s ‘Jailer’ Timaya’s ‘Kulukulu’ they lyrical content is always positive, sometimes they sing about life and its environments, their history, success and downfalls, even when they are singing about a woman whether ass or beauty it is done with some intelligence that if you don’t follow well you will never know, he stressed on.

After the interview with the source, we decided to find out the truth; hurray it was a true reflection. The local artiste these days, majority is sing about women, if not their ass, beauty and as usual similar lyrics.

If care is not taken our entire music from some years to come will all have the same pattern which has started already though but can get worse if measures are not put in place earlier like NOW?
