Upcoming beat maker doctor
slim who doubles as a musician has admitted to the fact that the current
biggest rave song in town – ‘Sek3’ was highly influenced by the
music group Double as NY the other group member of Double actually directed how
the song should go, that is how come he (dr. slim) did a 32 seconds rap.
The beat maker disclosed to
18newspaper in a phone interview this morning that, if DJ Khalid does a song
with all these foreign artistes, does he need to do a full verse of the song
before he is tagged as the owner?
He admitted being on a radio
interview over the weekend on Adom fm. During the interview, Doctor slim was
asked by the radio presenter whether he composed the song or not and he openly said,
Naked (now NY) the other member of
Double had a great influence in the song by directing how the song should go
and how long his rap should be that is why he did only 32 seconds.
What makes the issue
interesting is, Doctor Slim told 18newspaper that, Naked told him to make his
verse short but he in the first place called Naked to come and do his part of
the song but upon arrival he (Naked) said the song should be short enough for
people to enjoy hence he agreed.
Then the big question is,
how can you own your song, do a different rap (love) which is completely
different from the chorus plus just allow the song to go in the favor of the
singer while he is talking about the readiness of a group DOUBLE, we asked?
Slim said he does not know why he did that but in all things, a song is driven
by a hook and a chorus hence he opted for that choice.
Slim also made some
serious allegation during the interview with 18newspaper saying, Double is
paying bribes to people to say all sort of things about the song and he does
not even know if double has paid (18newspaper) to call him. He also said that,
Double is trying to use their label as a force to claim ownership of the song
and finally he has never met anybody from Double label as speculated.

to the artiste Double who was represented by PK to answer the allegations posed
by Slim. PK said, the song first of all is an old song written by Double, the
song Dr. Slim recorded when he called Naked was a love song not the current
song in question. So that goes to answer the reason why he (Dr. Slim) did a
love rap which is different from the main chorus and hook.
For on the issue of
bribes, we have not given anybody including you (18newspaper) any bribe and we
will not do that. Double is a strong brand and we know our worth. As for him
saying our label is a force behind us that is why we want to claim the song, it
is never true, everybody knows we just got unto that label and we are yet to
talk to them about this whole issue.
The issue is, Ghanaians
know our worth and they know the kind of songs we do and every time we release
a new one, they just can’t wait. How can you compare yourself to DJ Khalid while
you have not reach an agreement with us, also who will allow someone to influence his
own song towards a certain direction plus allow a verse and a chorus, PK of
Double stressed.
PK also added that, Slim
should come out and redraw those allegations. According to Slim he started his
promotion 8months ago but we (double) promoted this song alongside our Ee- mana
hit song that is how come both songs have picked the same time, even though
then our eyes were on Ee-Mana for some time.
18newspaper investigations
about this current issue reveals that, Double had already recorded the song
sometime ago and called it ‘get ready for madness’ hence they just re-arranged
the song but the beat maker (Slim), when contacted thinks otherwise.
